Citizens Police Academy Class 2020

Below is the schedule for this year’s class starting April 13th. You will find brief information about the program and a link to an online application.

MOUNTAIN HOME POLICE DEPARTMENT

Citizens Police Academy

Class #11 – 2020 

Location: Police Department, 424 West 7th St., Mountain Home, Arkansas, MHCPAAA Room

Dates: Monday, April 13th, 20th, 27, May 4th, May 11th

Time: 6 pm – 8 pm

Application Deadline is April 10, 2020

Class Schedule

April 13th  Welcome,  Police Department Overview, Law Enforcement Technology, Arkansas Law Enforcement Accreditation Program (ALEAP)

April 20th  School Resource Officer Program and K9 Program

April 27nd Criminal Investigations and Patrol Operations

May 4th    Special Response Team and Drug Recognition Experts

May 11th  Community Policing, Mountain Home Citizens’ Police Academy Alumni Association, Final Q & A, Comments, and Graduation

Participants will have the opportunity to attend firearms training and attend court.

Purpose of the Citizens’ Police Academy 

The purpose of the Citizens’ Police Academy is to increase the participant’s knowledge of law enforcement, programs and operations utilized by the police department, and improve police-community relations. The class will highlight the daily operations of the department and is designed to give the class participants an overview of the responsibilities and challenges police officers face in delivering police services to our community. Graduates will experience a more interactive association with the police department, if they join the Mountain Home Citizens’ Police Academy Alumni Association after graduation. The alumni association is a major part of the department’s community policing efforts that are dedicated to improving the quality of life in our community.

Requirements

Class participants must be 18 years of age, free of felony criminal convictions, and complete an application. You may complete an application on-line at https://mtnhomepolice.com/citizens-police-academy-application/ or by visiting the police department at 424 West 7th Street, Mountain Home, Arkansas.
